In 2008 the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad began with De Kleine Wetenschap: an entire page for children (8+) in its science supplement on Saturdays.

Margriet coordinated the page from the beginning. She also wrote about museums, strange and funny animals, small experiments to do at home and amazing discoveries in the cosmos and elsewhere. She worked together with graphic designer Henry Cannon, illustrator Irene Goede and lots of others.

Nowadays she contributes a weekly column about math to De Kleine Wetenschap.
